This blog is going to be a space where I can share more openly about the ups and downs of the creative journey, provide inspiration, guidance, and most importantly, create a community of art lovers!

If you're just meeting me now, let me introduce myself...

Hey, I'm Courtney! I'm an artist from the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. I love painting faces, as well as sunny days, singing and animals. I hate Capsicum.

Growing up in the hills, I have always had an innate appreciation of nature. I have been captivated by colour and all things arty ever since I can remember, I love getting my hands dirty and making a mess in the name of creating. It was a natural progression that this turned into visually documenting the things, places and people around me. I remember one year my parents gifted me a book about drawing faces. I was fascinated by the geometry that could be found in a face, and the tiny details that made all the difference in likeness and expression of emotion. And so began my love for drawing, sketching and painting faces.

Here's me aged 2 years old finger painting... not gonna lie, I still do this!

I paint mostly anonymous subjects and consider the beauty of the human face the same as a landscape; both are expressions of nature, creation and the world we live in. I love to create expressive portraits that celebrate women through vibrant colour palettes and playful textures.
